Profile
Calin Alexa is a Scientific Researcher I in the Elementary Particles Physics Department at IFIN-HH. He leads the institute's ATLAS team and coordinates the Romanian ATLAS cluster, combining scientific leadership with research, detector development, and doctoral supervision.
Current work
- Coordination of IFIN-HH participation in ATLAS and of the wider Romanian ATLAS research programme.
- ATLAS detector-upgrade activities involving trigger and data-acquisition systems and the New Small Wheel.
- Phenomenology beyond the Standard Model, Monte Carlo simulation, and prospective studies for LHC and High-Luminosity LHC searches.
- Doctoral supervision, scientific mentoring, and particle-physics outreach.
